Statens Serum Institut (SSI) develops, produces and sells in vitro diagnostic products for clinical microbiology, veterinary diagnostics, food control as well as environmental and hygiene control at home and abroad.

Modern and flexible production

SSI produces culture media, reagents, antisera, antibodies, diagnostic kits etc. – everything in advanced production facilities based on the latest knowhow. Our cutting-edge automated production facilities produce a vast number of uniformly high-quality products in large batches. Besides standardized products, we also offer many niche products and production based on specific customer wishes.

Professional sales and distribution

All of our sales staff have the professional background and experience they need in microbiological laboratory work to offer optimal advice. Products and services are exported either directly to customers or through an established network of dealers, which is constantly developed. New distributors are selected for their professionalism when selling our products. SSI itself distributes sampling materials, indicators and kits from approved suppliers to laboratories and general practitioners. In future, we wish to extend our portfolio of high-quality merchandise to match our range of other products and services, which are in high market demand.

Superior service and safe delivery

We want our customers to experience excellent service. An educated service personnel team is ready to receive and rapidly follow up on orders and requests. Products are delivered by haulage contractors, our own vehicles, the Danish postal system or as agreed with customers. Fast and safe delivery of inventory goods at home and abroad is a focus area at SSI.

Focus on quality assurance
SSI’s development, production and sales of in vitro diagnostics are quality assured and certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Products that meet the definitions in Council Directive 98/79/EC of 27 October 1998 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices are CE labelled. 

Intensified research and development

We have increased our efforts to develop new and existing in vitro diagnostics over the years. Our main emphasis has been on developing new diagnostic kits using modern technologies that match our current product areas. We develop new products in close cooperation with customers and our diagnostic departments.
