Research Resources

The Section has established a biological bank comprising blood samples collected from persons in Greenland who participated in field studies during 1979 – 2004. Furthermore, a research register has been established, linking a number of nation-wide registers. These sources are open to other researchers under current scientific ethic regulations.

Research station in Sisimiut

Many of the studies undertaken by the section have been carried out in the town of Sisimiut, the second-biggest town of Greenland, where a research station has been established in close collaboration with the local Health Centre.

The Section has close connections with researchers, health professionals and health authorities in Greenland, and with researchers at Danish and international institutions involved in Arctic research.
